Kranji War Memorial

Living in a different country can be difficult for a lot of people. Adjusting to a new culture, meeting different people, and roaming in an unfamiliar land. It’s not easy, and one way for us to make adjusting a bit easier is to learn and explore the area.  With that in mind, my wife and I agreed that we will start visiting interesting and historical spots here in Singapore, not just the ones listed in Tourist Guides. That way we can learn more about this country’s history and share that knowledge to people who visit here.

Last weekend, we went to the Kranji War Memorial. Its a memorial cemetery for the allied soldiers who perished defending Singapore and Malaya during the Japanese invasion in World War II. Most of the bodies were not found, and some were relocated here. It’s somewhat like the Libingan Nang Mga Bayani in the Philipines.

Here are some pics I took.
